Q&A: We’re looking back on New York with team LIÉ.
From glamorous, high-end New York to Scandinavia’s fashion capital, Copenhagen – we’ve asked our team behind LIÉ Studio about the work that they recently have accomplished with their brand while in New York. Read Amalie and Cecilie Moosgaard’s answers here!
Q. What opportunities has your stay in New York created?
A. Our stay in New York has opened up new opportunities, and we have used our time in NYC reaching out to new retailers and getting to know the market. We have continuously grown our B2C sales on the US market. The US is our biggest market and we have succeeded in growing our reach and sales during our stay.
Q. How did you manage the time difference between you and the rest of your team?
A. We have had a wonderful and very accepting team back home in Copenhagen, which has continuously been joining in on meetings late in the day with great energy and passion. The early morning meetings in NYC have been no hassle when we have had engaged co-workers on the other side of the world. We shot our upcoming campaign in the streets of NYC with team members from the offices back home, who flew in for the shoot, and we ended up with the perfect result that we’re happy to share very soon!
Q. What has been your biggest source of inspiration in New York?
A. The everyday life, the energy of the city, and the people. The city is filled with so much diversity which has been a great source of inspiration both personally and professionally.
Q. Did you work on any new jewelry designs while working abroad?
A. We have worked on several jewelry designs while being abroad, and we’re so excited to launch our New York 2023 drop in March this year.
Q. What did a workday look like while in New York?
A. A workday in New York usually starts early for us. Waking up early, checking emails while getting ready, and then out the door at 8am to catch the J train to Manhattan where we have a shared office space. We’re three people in the LIÉ team in NYC, so we usually start our workdays checking in with our team in Copenhagen and Aarhus, and by noon we’re back to doing our individual work tasks. When the workday gets to an end, we’re able to enjoy the endless places and experiences that New York has to offer.
There is no doubt that it has been an amazing opportunity for the team, and we can’t wait to see the new jewelry that they have been working on!
