Introducing our ambassador: Mathilde Brandi
In Tanzania, over 2.6 million children grow up without parental care, facing a lack of basic necessities due to poverty and disease. To counteract this fundamental issue, ourFoundation supports a SOS Children’s Village located on the island of Unguja, housing 112 children and nine young people in 13 families. The purpose of these admirable villages is to provide these children with the essentials for a healthy upbringing, such as food, education, and healthcare.
Meet Mathilde
Mathilde Brandi, a passionate ambassador for ourFoundation, played a dedicated role in advocating for the orphaned and vulnerable children of the Children’s village in Tanzania.
In this article, we’re diving into the project and some of Mathildes thoughts and experiences while taking part in it.
Moved by the village
In 2021, Mathilde Brandi visited the SOS Children’s Village and witnessed the impact of ourFoundation’s work. She remarked: “The thing that impressed me the most was the warm hearts of the mothers.”
She furthermore expressed that she was touched by the commitment of these women, who managed households with up to ten children. “They were some very special women with really big hearts, who embraced all the children and at the same time were joyful and loving,” she noted, highlighting the strong spirit of the community.
During her stay, Mathilde helped raise awareness of the foundation’s efforts, drawing attention and support for the children and families in Zanzibar.
Alongside fellow ambassador Jo Hanna, who took stunning photos of their visit, Mathilde’s advocacy brought the stories of resilience and hope within the village to a wider audience.
